Rightmove have reported a record price jump this January. They have reported that UK asking prices are up 2.8% month-on-month in January 2026 – the largest increase seen in the month of January on record, according to their latest house price data, showing that the market has recovered from the uncertainty that surrounded the November Budget last year.
As always, price trends in regions and local markets across Great Britain show great variance and The North East showed the largest increase for any region of 7%, with areas such as South East and East of England have seen a drop in average property prices versus this time last year.
